HALOTM should not be used if you have an infectious or connective tissue disease, are immunocompromised, pregnant, have a medical condition that may affect wound healing, are intolerant to anaesthetic based agents, have a propensity for keloid scar formations, or who are on long standing systemic steroids. HALOTM is also not suitable for you if you have a haemorrhagic (bleeding) disorder or haemostatic (bleeding) dysfunction; or have used isotretinoin (Accutane) within the past 6-12 months. The use of smoking and nicotine products may delay healing.
Avoid alcohol in the week prior to your treatment because it can increase the risk of bruising and swelling. Also avoid aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications 2 weeks prior.
The area to be treated will be cleaned to remove any dirt, makeup or moisture. Treatment times can be up to 75 minutes (for the face including numbing preparation time) and will vary depending on the area being treated. Some mild pain and discomfort is to be expected, although this also varies depending on individual factors, such as pain tolerance level. Eye protection will be provided while you are having your treatment
Redness and a sunburn sensation may last for several hours after treatment. Tightness of the skin and localised swelling may also occur. Cool compresses or ice packs can provide some comfort after treatment. Bronzing and sandpaper texture to the skin begins at day 2-3, and typically clears by day 4-5. A light balm can be applied to the skin for comfort until the skin has exfoliated. Apply sunblock to the treated areas for at least 2 weeks following treatment to avoid excessive sunburn reaction or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Do not use facial products with retinoids or other potentially irritating ingredients for 2 weeks following your treatment. Aspirin and alcohol should be avoided for 12-48 hours after your treatment. LED light therapy treatments can be useful to assist with healing.
HALOTM treatments are priced depending on the area being treated. Prices start from $550 for a mini area and $1650 for a full-face treatment. HALOTM and BBL® are often combined to achieve the benefit of both devices with one period of downtime, or for BBL® to address any post HALOTM redness. Before having a HALOTM treatment, a consultation with our team is required to assess your suitability. Pricing information specific to your presenting concerns can be discussed during this consultation and is dependent on your individual treatment plan. FAQs
HALOTM is considered a complete skin revitalization laser treatment. You will likely see the initial results between two and five days after your HALOTM treatment, but your skin will continue to improve over time. Most people see the greatest pigmentary improvement in the first two to three weeks. This is followed by a dermal regeneration phase that continues to improve for months with an overall improvement in your skin, including a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduced pore size, improved skin reflectivity and glow, and significant removal of discoloration.
You can choose how many treatments you want. Discuss your needs with our team and you can develop the most appropriate treatment package for your goals. An interval of at least approximately 4-8 weeks is recommended between HALOTM treatments. BBL® treatments can occur prior and a few weeks following HALOTM.
With a topical anaesthetic and integrated cooling technology, people typically experience very little discomfort. Most people describe the treatment as a feeling of heat with occasional prickling sensations but are generally comfortable. After the treatment, most people will continue to feel warm for 30 minutes to a few hours depending on the intensity of the treatment.
HALOTM results will last for long-term, but you should continue to keep your skin protected at all times using UV sunscreen to protect your new, healthy skin. Each additional HALOTM treatment you get will continue to improve the results, giving you even more revitalised skin.
We understand that you’re busy and your availability can change. We ask that for all non-surgical appointments you provide 72 hours’ notice so that we can reallocate your time. Less than 72 hours’ notice for a change or cancellation of appointment will result in forfeiture of your prepayment of $100.
