The EMSCULPT® Neo uses a unique combination of synchronised radiofrequency (RF) heating and HIFEM+ in a single treatment, the innovative combination designed to eliminate fat cells and build muscle. Can be used in muscle building mode only. Ideal for either aesthetic goals or functional improvements.
The EMSCULPT Neo is an advancement from the EMSCULPT, with the inclusion of Synchronised Radio Frequency and far more intense muscle contractions. For treatment, EMSCULPT Neo applicators with synchronised RF electrodes are placed on the body where they emit RF heating and high intensity magnetic fields simultaneously. RF selectively heats the fat in the target area to a higher temperature (42-43°C) than the skin and muscles, which leads to breakdown of the fat (lipolysis) with residues of the cells slowly removed by the body. In addition, the HIFEM+ technology induces 20,000 muscle contractions in a single 30 minute session, at an intensity level not achievable during a voluntary workout. While fat cells are being targeted by the RF heat, the muscles are also warmed, which in combination with HIFEM+ technology, increases the hypertrophy or muscle growth, and increases muscle fibers (hyperplasia) in the target area.
Synchronised RF heating can also be reduced to warm the muscles without inducing fat reduction if muscle building without fat reduction is the goal. Treatments goals can be primarily aesthetic or functional improvement, or a combination of both.
Clinical studies suggest, after 3 abdominal treatments with results measured 3 months after the final treatment:
- Muscle growth of 25%, a level equivalent to 12 to 16 weeks of resistance training, 30% fat reduction
- 19% improvement in diastasis recti (abdominal separation) – if lower back pain is experienced in combination with muscle separation, then treatment of abdomen and glutes is recommended
- An average reduction of waist circumference of up to 5.9cm, when fat reduction mode was used in combination with muscle building in the abdominal area.

Possible risks from EMSCULPT® Neo include:
- Temporary muscle spasms.

EMSCULPT® Neo should not be used if you have any of the following at the time of treatments:
Pulmonary insufficiency.
Injured or otherwise impaired muscles.
Disturbance of temperature or pain perception.
Hemorrhagic conditions.
Septic conditions and empyema.
Acute inflammations.
Contagious skin disease.
Metal implants near the treated areas.
An electrical implant anywhere in the body.
Drug pumps.
A history or current malignant cancer.
Pregnant or breastfeeding.
Cardiovascular diseases (e.g., peripheral arterial disease, thrombophlebitis and thrombosis).
EMSCULPT Neo must not be applied over:
Head, neck, spinal cord, heart and testes.
Pelvic or low back area when a metal containing intrauterine device (IUD) is present.
Swollen or neoplastic tissues, space occupying lesions or skin eruptions.
You are advised to wear comfortable clothing, without any metal zippers or buttons, so the application area can be easily accessed. The treatment is delivered to the skin not over clothing. You will be asked to remove all metallic accessories, including piercings, and electronic devices.
The applicators are applied directly to clean skin, so wearing accessible clothing is ideal, or having clothing removed from the treatment areas before your treatment starts. You will feel intense but tolerable heating and muscle contractions.
Following EMSCULPT® Neo treatment some people experience erythema (redness) and mild swelling in the treated area that resolves within a few days.

EMSCULPT® Neo addresses unwanted fat and/or improves muscle tone and strength. Some people can see improvement after the first treatment. However, optimal results are seen 2 to 3 months after the last treatment (4 to 6 treatments is recommended). A healthy lifestyle is also required for results to be evident. People who exercise the targeted muscle groups outside of the treatments tend to see better results. Fat cells destroyed by the treatment are permanent. However, weight gain causes fat cells to expand, which will lead to the loss of treatment results. Muscle mass is not permanent and like muscle strength and tone acquired via traditional means, requires maintenance.
You can choose how many treatments you want. However, four treatments are recommended, with 5 to 10 days between each session. Two further maintenance sessions are also ideal. Completing the recommended number of sessions will maximise the device efficacy. Some people may require additional sessions depending on the severity of your presenting concerns.
If both fat reduction and muscle tone and strength is your goal then you will feel heat, which is comfortable, and intense muscle contractions in the treatment area. It is not a painful treatment. Most people compare the treatment to an intense workout. If only fat reduction is your goal then you will feel the heat without the muscle contractions.
