EMFACE® combines a patented combination of 2 technologies - Synchronised RF+ and HIFESTM . Synchronised RF heats the dermis, increasing the levels of collagen and elastin fibres that act as supporting structures that give the skin strength and elasticity, with the goal of reducing wrinkles and lifting the skin. HIFESTM is a technology developed for facial toning using high-intensity electrical fields. It restores and elevates facial tissue support by selectively contracting muscles and increasing density and quality of muscle structure.

The combination of these technologies target all facial layers - skin, fascia, connective tissue framework, and facial muscles - to address skin texture, wrinkles, and skin laxity.

EMFACE® Face is designed to address wrinkles in the skin and skin laxity through a process of toning and lifting the muscles and skin.

EMFACE® Submentum is designed to reduce the overall volume of a double chin and reduce skin laxity by muscle toning.

EMFACE® precisely targets areas of concern, including:

  • Skin laxity
  • Deep static wrinkles
  • Lower face heaviness
  • Facial volume
  • Double chin

Pre-treatment planning

The treated area will be wiped with a cleanser before the procedure to remove any moisture, perfume, moisturisers, or oils. You will be asked to remove all metallic accessories and electronic devices.

What to expect

Treatment times are approximately 20 to 30 minutes. Both the Face and Submentum applications are non-invasive. The skin tissue will be heated to 40-42°C to stimulate fibroblast activity, the synthesis of new collagen and elastin fibres and the decomposition of old collagen and elastin fibres. In addition the HIFESTM technology selectively induces supramaximal contractions in the facial elevator muscles, triggering muscle protein synthesis and myofiber renewal. This means you will feel a comfortable heating sensation and muscle contractions in your face.

Post-service care

Following EMFACE® treatment some people experience erythema (redness) and mild swelling in the treated area. Both will likely resolve within 2 to 24 hours following treatment. Dry skin in the treatment area can occur during the first 12 to 48 hours after treatment. EMFACE® treatments can be completed in a lunchtime and do not have ‘downtime’.

FAQs

What results can I expect?

EMFACE® addresses wrinkles in the face – including deep static lines, skin laxity, and unwanted volume in the face and/or double chin area. EMFACE® treatments are designed to achieve facial contouring and lifting.

How many treatments do you need?

You can choose how many treatments you want. However, 4 treatments are recommended for optimal results, with 2 to 14 days between each session. Completing the recommended 4 sessions will maximise the device efficacy. Some people may require additional sessions depending on the severity of your presenting concerns.

What does EMFACE® feel like?

The skin tissue will be heated to 40-42°C to stimulate fibroblast activity – the synthesis of new collagen and elastin fibres and the decomposition of old collagen and elastin fibres. In addition the HIFESTM technology selectively induces supramaximal contractions in the facial elevator muscles, triggering muscle protein synthesis and myofiber renewal. This means you will feel a comfortable heating sensation and muscle contractions in your face.

How long will my results last?

You will begin to see tangible results after your series of 4 treatments scheduled between 2 and 14 days apart. Optimal results of the EMFACE® are usually reported in 90 days after the last session.

Can I get EMFACE® treatment if I have dental implants?

The general answer is Yes. Although there is a risk of the implant heating because RF heat disperses to metal, although it is a very superficial heating of the skin, and HIFES targets muscles and should not affect the bones of the mouth. It is important to let your Practitioner know if you feel heat in your mouth. Retainers are typically not bulky enough to be a contraindication for treatment.

Can I have EMFACE® therapy if I have medical aesthetic treatments to my face using needles?

Yes, this does not impact your suitability for EMFACE®

What if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?

We understand that you’re busy and your availability can change. We ask that for all non-surgical appointments you provide 72 hours’ notice so that we can reallocate your time. Less than 72 hours’ notice for a change or cancellation of appointment will result in forfeiture of your $100 prepayment.
