ClearSilk (Nd:YAG 1064nm) is a non-ablative laser suitable for the treatment of ageing concerns, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmented lesions, diffuse redness, rosacea, and acne scars. It can also improve luminosity of the skin and boost skin revitalisation.

ClearSilk works by depositing heat into micro vessels. This heat increases the temperature of the blood that is flowing through the micro vessels stimulating fibroblast activity and the body’s natural repair process typically resulting in a decrease in fine lines and wrinkles.

Pre-treatment planning

Avoid alcohol in the week prior to your treatment because it can increase the risk of bruising and swelling. Avoid aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications 2 weeks prior. It is not recommended to apply topical anaesthetic prior to your treatment. Hair in the treatment area should be shaved prior to the treatment.

What to expect

The area to be treated will be cleaned to remove any dirt, makeup and moisture. Treatment times vary from 15 minutes to 45 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Some mild pain and discomfort are to be expected, although this varies depending on individual factors, such as pain tolerance level. Eye protection will be provided for you to wear during your treatment. Treatments are ideally performed 2-4 weeks apart, with up to 5-6 treatments required to address your concerns.

Post-service care

Slight redness and a minimal sunburn sensation may last for several hours after treatment. Cool compresses or ice packs can provide some comfort after treatment. Apply sunblock to the treated areas for at least 2 weeks following treatment to avoid excessive sunburn reaction or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
