The most common reason people seek plastic surgery is to restore a smoother, younger-looking body shape after the effects of pregnancy or weight loss. Factors like age, sun damage, pregnancy, and weight gain often cause the skin to lose its elasticity, leaving pockets of skin and fat which no amount of exercise can budge.
All body procedures at Avery Plastic Surgery are customised to suit the patient’s natural body shape and their best interests; at times a combination of techniques may be required to achieve the desired result. We are passionate about sculpting natural body contours that look and feel un-operated on.
Dr Avery is highly skilled in a wide range of cosmetic and corrective body plastic surgeries including Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck), Body Lifts, and Liposuction. He has over a decade of experience in plastic surgery and has been performing body procedures in Newcastle since 2013.
Patients considering any form of plastic surgery will need to come in for a consultation to discuss the different options available. During the initial consultation, Dr Avery will assess your relevant medical history and before going any further, ensure that any body procedures you are considering are a safe and appropriate choice for you.
More commonly known as a “tummy tuck”, an abdominoplasty is the surgical removal of loose excess skin and fat from the lower abdomen. The loose, often stretch skin is often experienced after significant weight loss, multiple pregnancies, ageing or liposuction. This excess skin can not only be unsightly but also uncomfortable and cause hygiene issues.
Lipoplasty, more commonly known as Liposuction or “lipo” is a surgical procedure to sculpt the body contours into a more desirable shape for the patient. It can be performed on several parts of the body where excess fat deposits are difficult to remove such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, back, arms and neck.
The term body lift is a general term used to describe a variety of surgical procedures which remove unwanted skin and soft tissue from many parts of the body. Common body lift procedures include a complete lower body lift, full or mini tummy tuck (or abdominoplasty), apronectomy, arm lift, breast lift, and mummy makeover.
Pregnancy and having children can be an exciting and wonderful experience. However, it can also take a toll on the female body with sagging or deflated breasts, stubborn fat deposits, abdominal muscle separation (diastasis recti), and loose tummy skin. A mummy makeover can address these significant body changes that occur after pregnancy and breastfeeding, and by doing so assist in restoring confidence and a more compassionate self-image.
