Anti-Wrinkle Injections

As we age, our skin tends to become drier, thinner, and lose its elasticity, causing wrinkles that were once temporary to become permanent fixtures on the face. Common areas of concern include worry lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet, bunny lines, smile lines, and frown lines.

Anti-wrinkle injections are designed to smooth out the skin’s surface and reduce the appearance of these lines for a less worried, more youthful-looking face.

Injections of Botulinum Toxin are often best known by the leading brand name, which cannot be published due to medical regulations. At Avery Plastic Surgery, we only use this leading brand for our anti-wrinkle injections, as it has fewer side effects than cheaper products and lasts longer.

Dr Avery has over a decade’s experience in plastic surgery and has been performing anti-wrinkle injections in Newcastle since 2013.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections Consultation

During your initial consultation, Dr Avery will explain the risks and benefits associated with the procedure. He will also assess your relevant medical history and before going any further, ensure that anti-wrinkle injections are a safe and appropriate choice for you.

Whether you are considering anti-wrinkle injections or possibly face lifting surgery, book a consultation with Dr Avery so together you can discuss the different options available and develop a personalised treatment plan.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections Procedure

After the face has been thoroughly cleaned, a temporary nerve paralysing medication (Botulinum Toxin) is injected into the facial muscles below wrinkles using a fine needle.

One or several injections may be made in areas of concern for the patient, including between the eyebrows, on the forehead, on the sides of the nose, the outer corners of the eyes, and around the mouth.

Results can usually be seen around 2–7 days following the procedure, as the skin becomes smoother and wrinkles begin to fade away. Slight pain, tenderness, bruising, and/or mild headaches may be experienced after a session, but are rare.

Each anti-wrinkle treatment will take approximately 20–30 minutes. The effects of an anti-wrinkle injection may last anywhere from 3–4 months. Most regular patients will choose to receive anti-wrinkle treatments approximately every 3–6 months.
