What I had done was for me, not anyone else. And it's something I've always wanted. To finally
have this, I feel more confident. My name is Amanda. I am 34. I think I love being told I'm
good at something. I even won a national award with work as the Best Business Home Lender
in Australia. This job's very good for me because I like to have a target and a goal. I did a lot
of overtime. I worked weekends. I was working every day. And I went, "I'm gonna do
something for me."
I actually live across the road from a nurse who works with Gary. She said there's no other surgeon in Newcastle that's as nice to the nurses and the support staff as Gary is, so I was really excited to meet him. He was really professional. He went through everything in the first interview. It wasn't just about being locked into this. He went through any risks. He covered off everything. There was never any pressure to get it done, so I feel like if someone actually decided they didn't want to go ahead with it, that would be fine as well. I told him what I wanted, and he has done exactly that. Like there's nothing I would change. I'm so happy. I feel just a better version of me.
